For the second edition of 'CaravansarAID' we presented the 'CaravansarAID Medical Tourism Bureau', with Anne Weshinskey and Julie Upmeyer as Facilitators to the guests and artists of Supermarket the Artist-Run Art Fair.
Prescriptions were written and distributed, recommending custom travel packages to Istanbul which include an attack or accident, recovery at one of several recommended hospitals and consultancy for grants, benefits and other rewards upon return to the home country.

Veterans of the age old tradition of "oily wrestling", now enjoy the region's newest sport, the only combat that directly involves food, Meatball Wrestling! The IMWF (International Meatball Wrestling Federation) presents, a showdown between El Sevligi (TR) and Arni the Terrible (BG), taking place in Stockholm, Sweden as part of the Supermarket Art Fair.

'CaravansarAID' comes to the rescue of the impoverished Swedish artists with aid packets of food, healthcare and cleaning products. The products were brought from Turkey as humanitarian aid, presented in our booth, then dispersed to artists and guests of the fair.

February 20 - 1st Annual Swedish Turkish Meatball Eating Contest

In the first ever attempt at “Meatball Diplomacy”, Caravansarai teamed up with artists Arni Gudmundsson and Cristian Rieloff to host a competitive meatball eating extravaganza at the Supermarket Art Fair in Stockholm. On Saturday, February 20th at 6pm sharp, competitors lined up at the trough to compete for the coveted “Gravy Cup”. The ten competitors had 10 minutes to consume (without barfing) the most meatballs possible.
The champion, Adam Klimczak from Poland ate an incredible 55 meatballs!
